Natassia

Meet Natassia, mother of three, who experienced a successful breastfeeding journey on her last baby.

My name is Natassia and my baby is Taylen James (TJ). He is 6months old. We have been nursing since the day he arrived. I actually joined my first LLL meeting via video call from the hospital when he was 2 days old.

My daughter had an undiagnosed tongue tie so I had lots of difficulty nursing her so I anticipated this being an issue with TJ. I made an appointment with an IBCLC right away and had her check him out when he was a week old. We did a feed and weigh and she checked for ties. He seemed to be fine and I had none of the issues I had experienced previously.

LLL has helped me by answering my numerous questions and being available with support and a wealth of information. No matter what questions I had the leaders were always able to give me great advice and send relevant resources to help me.

My favorite nursing spot is on the front porch. Even though the weather has been extremely hot we have have been spending time outside early in the morning. We like to hang out there and I love to breastfeed while we’re outside.

Our neighbors have a beautiful garden with sunflowers and we enjoy looking at them and the various insects that visit. Dragonflies and butterflies flutter nearby and it creates a few moments of tranquility in my busy day. TJ is calm and cuddly and oh so cute. Until he is done and then he wriggles out of my arms and back to his blanket to play.
