La Leche League of Chattanooga has provided free breastfeeding support in Chattanooga for over 60 years. One parent to another, generation after generation.
You don't have to do this alone
Breastfeeding is beautiful — and hard. Whether you're feeding your baby at 2 a.m., pushing through pain, or carrying exhaustion no one else sees: we see you. You don't have to carry it alone.

How We're Different from Professional Care
- Whole picture: we consider your baby, you, and your support system
- Experts in normal breastfeeding: not medical intervention
- No clock ticking: no 5-minute visits or confusing terms; we stay as long as you need, wherever you're comfortable
- Honest next steps: not sure if you need professional care or "wait and see" is safe? We'll help you sort it out and share a list of providers if you need one – free
- Accredited leaders: not just another opinion. Our leaders have at least a year of personal breastfeeding experience, liability insurance, and 6–12 months of training in lactation practice, communication skills, and La Leche League philosophy
Local parents, trained to help
Our leaders are breastfeeding parents right here in Chattanooga who chose to give back – helping others stand where they once stood.
They lead our monthly meetings, answer help requests, and teach our breastfeeding classes. Each is accredited through La Leche League International, completes continuing education every year, and upholds the 10 philosophy concepts of La Leche League.

Our mission is your mission
About 5,000 babies are born in the Chattanooga area each year. 85% start breastfeeding, but by 6 months, fewer than half still are. By 12 months, only about a third. Source
Lack of support is a key reason parents stop short of their goals. That's where we come in; and where you can too.
