Meet Emily, mother of two with poor latching and suck reflexes.

My name is Emily and I have two daughters, Mila (4.5 years) and Hanna (7 months). I nursed Mila for 17 months and am currently nursing Hanna.

I didn't anticipate problems nursing with either baby. With Mila, I just thought it would come naturally, but she didn't have a strong suck reflex. We attended numerous appointments with lactation consultants and regularly attended LLL to help resolve our issues. With Hanna I was over-confident because I had experience now. However, her latch was shallow and we had to work to correct that. With both girls I have struggled with supply and have been a "just enougher".

LLL has helped in our journey by providing education and support. It is so helpful having other moms to turn to when I have problems or questions.

Our favorite nursing spot is in Hanna's quiet nursery with the lights low. It's time for just her and me. I talk or sing to her and she loves to play with my chin or nose.
